I don’t normally do reviews for two reasons, 1. I don’t believe in giving “gold stars” when someone or a business provides good service, they’re essentially doing their job and 2. I’m lazy…but I have to take the time out to write this review because the service was exceptional! I took a trip to Thailand and the travel agent I used, Crystal, and her agency, Led to Better Travels, made my trip everything and then some! Sorry in advance for the length.

I have used Crystal and her agency multiple times in the past and the service is always great but this review is specific to my most recent Thailand experience. The purpose of my trip was twofold; reset after a rigorous 27 months of law school and bar prep, and reconnect with my partner.

Before the Trip:

So I had a lot going on but I knew I wanted to take a trip. I was undecided on where, for how long, I didnt even have exact dates. I just knew I wanted to go away after July 30. I spoke with Crystal and told her my situation. I expressed to her that I was tired and I wanted to treat myself, I deserved it! Crystal went to work right away presenting me different options; multiple options. At this time I haven’t paid Crystal anything mind you but I was getting multiple quotes daily. Different country options, various hotel options, and she even gave me different quotes leaving out of multiple airports. I did not have to lift a finger when it came to deciding where to go. She did the research portion that goes into planning a trip and I love that for me cause that’s never a favorite task of mine. I love that she showed me different budgets like “how much do you want to treat yourself.” Lol. She was patient, kind, and professional. I know my delayed responses and unanswered messages annoyed her but she never showed it. After weeks of back and forth, I decided on Khao Lak, Thailand. I’m resting remember I didn’t want to do Bangkok. I’m not sure how Crystal found this beautiful island about two hours outside Phuket but I’m glad she did! I’m sure it was hours worth of work for her. In the past I’ve gone to her knowing where I wanted to go and she provided great service but I literally gave her nothing to work with and she found something that met all my needs.

Now that I decided it was time to book. Led to Better Travels has payment arrangements y’all!! I told yall I was a broke law student, I wanted to treat myself but the only way I was gonna be able to do that is if I could put the trip on layaway 😂 You do have to pay it off about six weeks before the actual trip but that was fine by me. If you do payments she provides you with a link and you can make a payment anytime it’s convenient for you. I love the payments arrangements because it makes it possible for me to travel more!

Leading up to the trip Crystal checked in with me multiple times to see what excursions I wanted to do while on the trip or if I just wanted to relax. I told Crystal we would just get to the country and play it by ear. The week before the trip she reached out again to see if there was anything I need. She followed up the morning of our flight and again after we landed. She was definitely on top of everything. It was nice knowing if I needed anything or something went wrong, she was one txt away ready to assist me.

During the Trip:

When we arrived Crystal had setup our transportation to our hotel so there was a driver waiting on us at the airport. We stayed at the hotel Outrigger. We had a villa with a private pool. The hotel was nice! It had an open feel to to all the common areas but the guest rooms and villas was like walking a maze. The hotel was very clean and modern. The villa was beautiful! I loved the shower and outdoor shower they had. I wish the pool was heated but it was still nice. Since COVID a lot of places have housekeeping come every other day, Outrigger had their cleaning staff come everyday. The service was wonderful too! The restaurant food was good, but the breakfast buffet was mediocre and lacked variety. There is also a beach restaurant right behind the resort…omggg their food and drinks *chefs kiss*, the white snapper with lemon butter sauce is worth a try!!

While there…we in fact did not play it by ear. After sleeping off the jet lag I was on Crystal’s line talking about “we need something to do.” That woman’s a saint cause she didn’t complain, she hopped right into agent mode and scheduled us some excursions. We took Thai cooking lessons; Muay Thai boxing lessons; we visited the elephant sanctuary and monkey temple; we went on a raft boat ride, visited a waterfall; we shopped in their massive mall; visited the aquarium in Phuket; went to the weekend market (Naka); went to their carnival and saw a parade; we checked out the nightlife on the infamous Bangla road.; we also sat with and pet tigers and cheetahs. Everything Crystal either found the tour company/excursion, or gave us the info for us to go experience things ourselves.

Anyone that Crystal booked us with was pleasant and professional when dealing with us. The drivers, tour guides, cooking instructor, all hotel staff. When it was time to leave our transportation was already arranged.

Home:

Again Crystal checked on us to make sure our flight arrived home safely and see if we needed anything. We also received a welcome home email which was nice. I came home and I am very rested. The trip served every bit of its purpose and then some.

I’m grateful for Crystal and Led to Better Travels because she handled everything, met all of my needs, was so kind and patient, and stayed within my budget. If you’re busy like me, get you a travel agent that’s like a really good friend taking care of all of the heavy lifting. Lol. Can we say full service!! She has spoiled me and I’m ready to book my next trip.

My review of my Trip to Costa Rica. First off I have to start with my flight. I flew first class for the first time and what a difference. All the inflight services was excellent now I may have to always travel like that.

Landing and transportation from the airport to the resort was smooth.

I walked the red carpet and had my drink did I feel like a movie star? More like a MVP lol.

Service and restaurants was good be prepared to walk the grounds are kinda hilly and yes they have shuttle service to take you around. My excursion included horseback riding and zip lining a first for me.

Whatever you do only look to your left or right or straight ahead I did not look down lol. I enjoyed my time there and my flight back home was smooth. Initially I was concerned about customs no I didn’t have any contraband lol, entry back to the states was easy breezy. I look forward to booking my next trip with “LED to BETTER” travel real soon.
